Most do not want to bother with the headache of getting down to Sicily. However, there are several options for travelers looking to visit the island anytime of the year that are relatively painless. Trains, planes and boats all service the island allowing visitors to travel around Sicily.

Arriving in Sicily By Plane

Sicily is a decent sized island, with a large amount of area from east to west. Due to its size, Sicily houses several airports. On the eastern side, Catania Fontarossa Airport or CTA puts travelers in close proximity to explore Sicily’s eastern coast. While the Catania Airport is small, flights run throughout most of the day and night, reaching the mainland of Italy and other European cities.
